HVAC SECONDARY VARIABLE SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION

HVAC(Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) is technology of indoor environmental comfort. Its goal is to provide thermal comfort & Air quality. HVAC systems are used in high-rise buildings, offices, hospitals, etc. System operates on the basic fundamental concept of water circulation through chillers & AHU(Air Handling Unit)  / FCU(Fan Coil Unit) with linear flow. To control and maintained the desired temperature chilled water is pumped to AHU / FCU.

Primary pumps circulate the water to chiller & secondary pumps circulate the chilled water to Load (AHU / FCU).

PLC will monitor zone sensors readings (Differential Pressure Transmitter installed at remote location) and responds to most dissatisfied zone by increasing either the number of operating pump or the pump speed. In the  case where all zones are satisfied then PLC responds by decreasing either the number of operating pump or pump speed to optimize the energy efficiency. PLC controls the staging of pumps based on requirements.

Primary pumps are working based on constant flow method to maintain desired flow through chillers, while secondary pumps are working on variable flow method for energy saving. As temperature reaches set point 2-way valve across AHU/FCU will close.

PLC also controls the bypass de-coupler line to maintain balance system at both side. (Primary as well as Secondary). De-coupler line valve is control based on flow / Pressure.

System is also suitable for integration with BMS system.
