Job Title: Head – Solar EPC Division
Location: Ahmedabad (travel as required)
Experience Required: 10–15 years in solar EPC projects, with 5+ years in a leadership role

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Growth

  • Define and execute the sales strategy for C&I rooftop, ground-mounted, and hybrid (solar + BESS) EPC projects.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to create and implement go-to-market strategies.
  • Identify and acquire new clients across private sector industrial, commercial, and institutional segments.
  • Focus on generating direct private sector orders and back-to-back government project orders in partnership with developers or prime contractors.
  • Drive lead generation through networking, partnerships, and market outreach.
  • Lead techno-commercial discussions, client presentations, and closure of large EPC deals.
  • Support bid development for private sector clients.

Project Execution Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end execution of utility-scale and C&I rooftop solar projects (MW-scale).
  • Oversee engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery of projects as per client and regulatory specifications.
  • Approve engineering layouts, SLDs, BoQs, and monitor progress via PM tools.
  • Ensure compliance with MNRE, DISCOM, CEIG, and IEC standards.

After-Sales Service & Client Retention

  • Ensure robust post-commissioning support, including performance guarantees and AMC contracts.
  • Oversee service team responsible for monitoring, O&M, and remote diagnostics.
  • Establish SLAs for complaint resolution, preventive maintenance, and performance reporting.
  • Develop programs for client training, documentation handover, and satisfaction tracking.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Lead procurement strategy for modules, inverters, structures, BOS, and other materials.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, OEMs, and subcontractors for best value and lead time.
  • Develop long-term vendor relationships and maintain qualified vendor base.

Team & Process Management

  • Build and manage cross-functional teams: sales, design, execution, and service.
  • Define KPIs for departments and implement dashboards for performance monitoring.
  • Hire, train, and retain skilled personnel aligned with project and growth needs.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure all EPC projects adhere to HSE guidelines, ISO procedures, and company SOPs.
  • Implement QA/QC plans across sites; conduct audits and inspections.
  • Maintain documentation for commissioning reports, warranty records, and performance guarantees.

Key Requirements:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering; M.Tech or MBA is a plus.
  • 10–15 years of total experience in solar EPC, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in sales closure, project execution, and post-sales support.
  • Proven experience delivering 5 MW+ rooftop or 20 MW+ utility-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV design, net metering, open access, and PPA models.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, negotiation, and client engagement skills.
  • Familiar with PVSyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, and MS Project/Primavera

Preferred Exposure To:

  • Hybrid solar + battery storage systems (BESS)
  • SCADA/remote monitoring for solar plants
  • Government and private sector tendering (SECI, GEDA, DISCOMs)
  • AMC models and O&M contract delivery

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Annual EPC revenue delivered (₹ Cr)
  • Gross project margin (%)
  • Project delivery within committed timeline (% of projects)
