The Epson SCARA LS3-B401S-V1 is a high-speed, compact industrial robot engineered for demanding automation tasks in industries like electronics, automotive components, consumer goods, medical devices, and lab automation. With a 400 mm arm reach, 3 kg payload capacity, and ±0.01 mm repeatability, it is well-suited for high-precision applications such as small-part assembly, screw tightening, vision-based inspection, pick-and-place operations, and component insertion.
One of its standout features is the ultra-fast cycle time, reaching as low as 0.39 seconds, enabling increased throughput in high-volume production environments. The robot uses battery-free motor encoder technology, which not only minimizes maintenance but also reduces long-term operating costs—eliminating the need for periodic battery replacement and reducing downtime.
Designed with space efficiency in mind, the LS3-B401S-V1 incorporates a slanted cable outlet and compact cable duct on the second axis, making it ideal for installations where space is constrained. It also features an integrated Cat 5e Ethernet port on the J2 arm, simplifying the setup of camera-based vision systems, which are essential for quality inspection and part identification.
The robot is powered by the compact RC90-B controller, which supports major fieldbus protocols such as EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Profinet, DeviceNet, and PROFIBUS-DP, offering seamless integration with existing automation infrastructure. The controller’s universal I/O design (PNP/NPN switchable) and easy-to-remove motor/cable connection further enhance installation and wiring flexibility..
