Requirements

The customer required a high-speed vision inspection system capable of identifying defects in passive components mounted on PCBs. The solution needed fast image acquisition, high image clarity, automatic rejection, and seamless integration with mechanical systems. Simple control architecture, reduced wiring complexity, and reliable performance at very high processing speeds were critical requirements.

Achieving accurate defect detection at very high processing speeds was a major challenge. Variations in component placement, lighting conditions, and image quality affected inspection reliability. Integrating vision inspection with mechanical handling and rejection mechanisms within an existing production line added complexity. Maintaining system stability while processing thousands of components per minute was essential.
